The PLA is situated on over 60 acres of land which includes a private beach and an historic clubhouse. Both are available for use by members for private functions. 

PLA Beach Party Procedure

If you would like to host a beach party at Pinewood Lake, please contact for rental calendar availability. Once your party is booked on the calendar, you will submit a Beach Agreement (In Season -OR- Out of Season) with your payment. The Beach Agreement and payment must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the event by regular mail to

Place in mailbox on West Lake Rd (just outside Pinewood parking lot on left) in an envelope addressed to Beach Committee or personally drop off to Beach Registrar at the check in desk.


Mini Beach Parties for 7-14 guests:     

  • $50 fee

  • Usage Fee of $100 payable to “PLA” and submitted along with this signed/completed agreement.     

  • Beach Party Guidelines

    • Choose a Beach Location … Grass Area (under trees) -OR- Sand Area (rear of beach) for 15-30 guests

    • Follow the Beach Rules as listed in the Member Directory and on

    • Bring a guest list to the Registrar (or include with signed agreement now) one day before the party which includes: first and last name, address and telephone number of all party guests

    • If the number of guests in the party increases, you must notify the Beach Director at least three days in advance

    • Member must be present during the beach party rental for the entire duration of the rental. 

    • Guests must wear designated “party” wrist bands; provided by the Registrar on the day of the party or by the Beach Committee (prior to the event).  They will serve as identification for the beach party.

    • The Beach Director will have necessary lifeguard coverage on the day of your event. If you have any special requests regarding lifeguard coverage, contact the Beach Director directly at
      — Your party area includes 2 picnic tables and will take place during regular PLA operating hours. Some of your guests may not be familiar with PLA and; as host,  it is your responsibility to convey our rules / guidelines / policies to them while on our premises. Other members and guests alike will be in the vicinity during your party, so please be mindful of others and the shared space.
      — Please remove any party décor and trash from the party area and return the premises to its original state. As always, no glass is permitted on the PLA grounds as it is a safety hazard.         


Clubhouse Rentals


To rent the Pinewood Lake Clubhouse for a private event you must be a Member in good standing. To book your event, please contact You will be required to submit a rental agreement with payment, security deposit and certificate of Insurance. Once you have submitted all paperwork, please contact our Event Facilitator, Greg Marconi at 203-650-7803 (weekdays after 4PM) to schedule time to visit the rental space to obtain access keys for set-up/clean-up and to coordinate event preferences, needs and final details.

  • Hanging of Decor from wooden beams in ballroom is permitted

  • Does not include usage of PLA Grounds - you must make special arrangements to use both

  • Refrigerator in Pineroom may be used to store perishable food items

  • Streamers and party lights hung from ceiling tiles in permitted

  • Does not include usage of PLA Grounds - you must make special arrangements to use both

  • Security deposit - $150

  • Weekly Rental Price - $175 (Tues-Thurs) September through May

  • $50 cleaning surcharge will be applied if room is not cleaned

All Rental Prices Include Tables & Chairs

  • Rectangle (2.5 x 8 ft) seat 8 — may also be used for gift/buffet/desert or family style set-up [16 onsite]

  • Round (5 ft / 60” round) seat 8 — may also be used for appetizers or check-in tables [23 onsite]


Set-Up & Decorations

  • Saturday Booking  - Friday after 8PM or day of party in AM

  • Sunday Booking - Morning of party but if there is a rental previous night around 11AM

  • Weekly Booking - Day before party or day of party in AM

  • NO helium balloons, fog machines or candles permitted in our spaces

  • NO decorations are permitted to be taped on the walls of our spaces



  • PLA parking lot can accommodate up to 30 vehicles comfortably

  • No legal parking on the surrounding streets – cars may trickle onto surrounding streets (Eastlake & Westlake) during PLA sanctioned events


General Information

  • Clean room of all decorations & place all trash in garbage cans provided (Trash will be removed by PLA)

  • Toilet tissue, soap & paper towels are fully stocked in bathrooms – You may spruce up lavatories w/additional décor

  • Cleaners, rags or brooms may be needed for your event – These items are not supplied

  • Please Note: Lake draw down may take place after swim season (late September or early October) – Take note should you choose to use the lake as a backdrop for outside photos.

Usage Requirements to Host a Class at Pinewood Lake
  • To host a class or event, you must be a PLA member in good standing or you must be sponsored by a PLA member.

  • Contact Social chair to check availability on PLA calendar in case of any conflicts.

  • Once approved, contact Partyline Editor at to advertise in Partyline and for distribution of e-blasts to our membership.

  • Class instructors must pay a room usage fee of $10 per class (if two classes in one day, $20/class).

  • Class instructors will provide PLA with certificate of insurance coverage, in case of injury, of at least $500,000 in liability coverage.

  • Per state regulation, class instructors will supply PLA with a sales and use tax permit or room occupancy tax permit.

  • Class instructors will provide PLA with a list of member & non-member participants.  Members will pay regular/base fee for classes offered & non-members will be charged an additional $10/$20 — additional course fees must be given to PLA once fees are collected.

  • Registration for class(s) offered to PLA members first and if additional spots remain, then may be offered to friends of PLA.

  • You are responsible for collecting funds for your class and submitting all required documents and fees to PLA before your first class.
